Why Telemarketing?

Telemarketing and telesales have been downgraded in people's opinions in the last few years. There are a lot of people who think that telemarketing is a low-skilled profession.

I have been in the industry now for quite a few years and think quite the opposite. It's one of the most creative jobs, telemarketers are people who generate the leads - usually working in the back office, so it's not one of the most glamorous jobs, but it's one of the most important ones. It's often telesales, or market research, appointments generation, etc. Telemarketers have to think on the spot and have to make quick and good decisions because every conversation is different and they have to qualify leads, opportunities, sales, and clients. That's why script reading doesn't work well in telemarketing and we, as a Telemarketing Agency, do not read scripts, but encourage creativity that boosts performance and success (unless industries' regulations state otherwise - which is rare).

Telemarketing campaigns can be used for a variety of purposes but mainly to produce more sales and leads, but isn't it the way most of our businesses grow? How many businesses are prepared to invest a few thousand pounds into advertising that brings a very small amount of leads and is overrated, when telemarketing costs less per lead/sale made?

Also, to tackle the view-point that most of the telemarketers are low-skilled individuals. I have only worked in the environment of well educated and ambitious individuals - some use it as a step into further career and some just love the environment of changing challenges - as this is what working in a marketing agency brings - continuous challenge!

image1Telemarketing allows you to generate a specific response from selected targeted groups of customers/prospects. It allows you to focus on the areas of you business you want to boost, you can gauge customer’s interest immediately due to interaction on the phone, it’s always beneficial to ask questions to assess the prospects/clients needs and of course you can deal with any questions or quieries on the phone right away! You can analyse the success of any of your campaigns accurately using responses you receive, you can also to a trial test to see if telemarketing will work for your business (your product or services) or to test to find the right targets before starting a full campaign. Here at Anna Shaw Associates we encourage all our first-time clients to do a trial first before committing to a longer campaign. You can also use telemarketing to renew your relationship with your past and present clients and build customer loyalty, re-establishing lapsed customer relationships and of course, generate new business!

You have probably already used some telemarketing previously and aware that not mane business to business (B2B) sales are made without some telephone contacts with a prospective customer. You may have telemarketed on the small scale yourself, but in order to keep it up and have an increase in queries, orders, appointments, sales, etc – you need to have telemarketing running on a continuous basis or at least to do regular campaigns to boost the turnover.

In addition, a dedicated telemarketing campaign could help you to:

As you can see there are so many reasons for running a telemarketing campaign. If you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact us using a requirements form or alternatively, call us on 0845 003 4267.
